Lea Valley Training Walk 6th April 2013 - 14 miles

Hello dear reader,

As part of my training regime, I decided to do the North Hertford to Waltham Abbey River Lea walk. This is the best bit, and avoids the bit south of the M25 underpass, which is ugly.

Rufus and I got the 9am train to North Hertford, and set off on the walk at 9.40am. The aim was to keep to a brisk pace and aim to arrive at Waltham Abbey for 2pm to go for lunch with Karen in Epping Forest. Well, not in the Forest, as that would be silly, but in a pub near by.

The weather was lush, with lots of sunshine and beautiful views. It didn't take long for Rufus to take a dip!

This was also a chance to try out my other boots to see if they would work better on harder ground, and avoid the blisters I got last weekend on the Rutland Round.

Here are some of the views on the route down to Waltham Abbey:

It was amazing to see the clouds reflected in the water so clearly

He's in again!

And again.
And Again!
And Again!

Watch Out Rufus!

Me, not used to the sun on my face.

Well that was that folks! it was a nice walk, and I will aim to do another longer one next weekend. Then there is the real training in the lakes with Karl in 2 weeks, so watch this space.
